During a team visit to Uganda in 2013, PCM UK met with 77 children who were getting a basic education in a small ramshackle building.
This school was the vision of one man, Pastor January, who had collected volunteers to build the school and find 3 qualified teachers to work in the school for very basic food and housing.
Pastor January is a godly man and he had faith that God would provide for this school as he knew the benefits an education could bring for these desperately needy children.
Upon seeing the school and witnessing their plight PCM UK felt they should take this school as a new project to fund.
There were 2 main urgent needs:
1. A food programme for the children; the school day is very long and some children travel up to 2 hours each way so it was imperative to have a school meal during the day.
2. To finance the basic salary for the dedicated teachers who had been teaching for a period of time with only basic needs being met.
